Want to hear about the fabulous range of research that AUT’s postgraduate students are doing? Come along to the Postgraduate Research Symposium<\/a> <\/strong>on Monday 9 September!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll open with a mihi whakatau from Professor Mark Orams, followed by a keynote from Dr. Atakohu Middleton. Atakohu is a reo M\u0101ori journalist and communications advisor, and completed her PhD on M\u0101ori journalism at AUT. She has recently published a non-fiction book, Kia Hiwa R\u0101!: M\u0101ori Journalism in Aotearoa New Zealand<\/em>. Atakohu\u2019s keynote address is titled, \u201cInsights from an accidental academic: What you need in your PhD toolkit\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Symposium then breaks out into multiple themed sessions of oral presentations from our talented postgraduate researchers. Choose from such diverse topics as ‘Ecology and Sustainability,’ ‘Engagement in Work and Learning,’ ‘Cultural Identities and the Arts,’ ‘Addiction, Mental Health and Therapies,’ and many more.
