The 3rd Postgraduate Writers\u2019 Retreat <\/strong>was <\/strong>held at Vaughan Park last week and proved to be another positive opportunity for thesis students to have quiet and focussed writing time. The weather treated us well and David and I enjoyed seeing the group share their experiences and research strategies.<\/p>\n

Some of the students sent us the comments below, they may well encourage you to apply for the next retreat which will be held in October 2013.\u00a0 (Call for applications in July-August, 2013).<\/p>\n

A beautiful location surrounded by like-minded people, every opportunity and plenty of helpful advice to write at your best. Thanks to Jennie, David and AUT for the opportunity and the support. Greg<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Fantastic opportunity \u2013 go if you get the chance. You\u2019ll meet focused people at the same stage as you, in a supportive environment with plenty of time to write and reflect. Not to mention great food and no dishes! Surprise yourself with what you can achieve. Really, who wouldn\u2019t want that? Pauline<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The retreat was a withdrawal that allowed me to advance. Faalia<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

It was the best thing I did for my thesis. Couldn’t think of a better place to get in the ‘zone’ for writing. Shivani<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The retreat was a good space to do some writing and also to reflect upon the process of writing a thesis. Very encouraging and motivating. Thanks so much for the retreat, it was great.\u00a0 John<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

I just want to express \u00a0my gratitude for organizing such a wonderful retreat. It was truly an amazing time, just what i needed at this stage of my PhD; peaceful place, great people, amazing support, which resulted in a free mind to think and reflect.
