Come along to this brief presentation!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The focus group method: Generating high quality data for empirical studies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Monday 20 October<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">3.00-3.30 pm in WO1023<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Presenter: \u00a0Julia Hallas, Senior Lecturer, AUT University<\/p>\n<p>This presentation will focus on the practical implications of planning for and conducting focus groups in order to ensure that the required data can be generated during the interview. Researchers new to the method will learn three activities that they can\u00a0engage\u00a0in to acquire the\u00a0methodological\u00a0knowledge\u00a0and\u00a0practical\u00a0skills required to\u00a0generate\u00a0the data for an\u00a0empirical\u00a0study:\u00a0undertake a literature review, develop a comprehensive interview schedule, and conduct a focus group pilot.
