{"id":4301,"date":"2015-07-28T14:38:40","date_gmt":"2015-07-28T01:38:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thesislink.aut.ac.nz\/?p=4301"},"modified":"2016-08-01T10:07:46","modified_gmt":"2016-07-31T21:07:46","slug":"events-for-pacific-researchers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesislink.aut.ac.nz\/?p=4301","title":{"rendered":"Events for Pacific Researchers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Talanoa Series<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Through the magic of videoconferencing, Pacific researchers from many different institutions and organisations hold regular virtual meetings in an initiative called the Talanoa Series.<\/p>\n<p>Twice a month, researchers meet up online to give seminars, share ideas, and engage in debates on all matters relating to Pacific research. Most NZ universities take part, and several universities in the Pacific are involved as well. A different university &#8220;hosts&#8221; each session.<\/p>\n<p>At AUT, you can take part by visiting one of the videoconferencing rooms. (Generally, these are City &#8211; WG608 or WO211; North Shore &#8211; AB221; South &#8211; MB223.)<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a session coming up on 3rd August, and you can download the invitation page below for future dates.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thesislink.aut.ac.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/PPG-Talanoa-Invitation-2015-pg1.pdf\">PPG Talanoa Invitation 2015 &#8211; pg1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>HRC Pacific Roadshow &#8211; tomorrow!<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Health Research Council of New Zealand (HRC) offers\u00a0scholarships, postdocs, and career development opportunities for Pacific researchers in health-related fields via the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hrc.govt.nz\/funding-opportunities\/pacific-development\">Pacific health research development awards<\/a>. The &#8220;roadshow&#8221; is designed to help you apply.<\/p>\n<p>The roadshow will be facilitated by Dr Nuhisifa Seve-Williams, who is the HRC&#8217;s Project Manager for Pacific health research.
