Predatory publishers are the scourge of the academic world. We face so much pressure to publish, and yet publishing in the wrong place can be costly – both in terms of money and reputation. Even seasoned academics can sometimes have difficulty assessing the quality of a journal, so it can be especially tough for postgrad students.<\/p>\n

The Royal Society of New Zealand, one of the country’s leading academic organisations, has put together some guidelines for “Selecting a Quality Publisher.”<\/a> The guide contains 20 questions you can ask to determine whether a publisher is high-quality or dubious.
