It is a kind of academic writing, but it\u2019s\ndifferent to undergraduate essay writing; and different to academic journal\nwriting, too. They have several\nwriting workshops coming up for postgraduate research students, tailored to the\nspecific sections of the thesis. It includes\nactivities for free-flowing writing that create content that can then be crafted\ninto text for your thesis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>2019 Dates: 6 August, 19 September, 24\nSeptember<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/elab.aut.ac.nz\/students\/events\/search?query=Writing+Abstract%2C+Introduction+and+Conclusion+sections&amp;EventType=\"><strong>Writing Abstract, Introduction and Conclusion sections<\/strong><\/a><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This\nworkshop focuses on the structure of Abstracts, Introductions and Conclusions\nin thesis writing. It also identifies distinctive features and functions of\nthese sections in relation to the whole research project, and its outcomes.\nThere will be opportunities to analyse and discuss text examples, and relate\nthese to your own writing. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>2019 Dates: 5 August, 17 September, 21 October<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/elab.aut.ac.nz\/students\/events\/search?query=Writing+Literature+review+sections&amp;EventType=\"><strong>Writing Literature review sections<\/strong><\/a><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This\nworkshop focuses on the function and&nbsp;distinguishing features of a literature\nreview in thesis writing. It also identifies&nbsp;keys steps to prepare for writing, and\nsome practical tools for this process.&nbsp;There will be opportunities to analyse\nand discuss text examples, and relate these to your own writing. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>2019 Dates: 15 July, 7 August, 18 September, 24\nOctober<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/elab.aut.ac.nz\/students\/events\/search?query=Writing+Discussion+sections&amp;EventType=\"><strong>Writing Discussion sections<\/strong><\/a><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This\nworkshop focuses on the structure, function and importance of the discussion\nsection(s) of a thesis. It also considers useful phrases that contribute to\nwriting the discussion section effectively.
