This\nweek\u2019s update is brief because there have been few major changes since last\nweek when we transitioned to Alert Level 2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We\nwill move to providing you with COVID-19 Updates every two weeks from now on,\nunless there is a major change\/issue relevant to graduate research students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As\nalways, if you have any concerns, questions or issues please do get in touch\nwith us via email\n(grs@aut.ac.nz)<\/a> and we will do all we can\nto help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You\ncan find the latest information on AUT\u2019s operations under Alert Level 2 via our\nCOVID-19\nupdate page<\/a> (and doctoral candidates\ncan also access the AUTi\nCOVID-19<\/a> intranet page).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Access to Campus Facilities During\nAlert Level 2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Graduate research\nstudents and AUT staff are asked to continue to work remotely if at all possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n If access to a campus\nfacility is crucial for your work you can apply for permission to access a campus building\/facility\nvia the following process: <\/p>\n\n\n\n Protocols for social distancing (minimum of one metre from others),\nmaximum of groups of 10 people, hygiene (e.g. frequent hand washing;\ncoughing\/sneezing into your elbow; no sharing of equipment\/work stations\nwithout appropriate cleaning) must be strictly followed when on campus (or\nelsewhere).<\/p>\n\n\n\n NB: the central Postgraduate study rooms<\/strong> (AL210, MA206, and WU415\/416) are not able to be accessed during Alert Level 2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n IF YOU DO NOT\nFEEL WELL,<\/strong> DO NOT\nCOME TO CAMPUS<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Contact your health professional (GP) or the Health\nLine ph 0800 611 116<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Please note: Access to certain areas on campus may be restricted for safety and security reasons. We will be sure to advise you as soon as we know when ALL buildings can be accessed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n If you are granted\npermission to access campus buildings and facilities this will be restricted to\nbetween the hours of 7.30am to 5.30pm on weekdays only. Remote Access to AUT Computers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n You can gain access to an on-campus computer\nfrom off-campus for up to three \u2013 two hour sessions. These will be offered via Zoom and are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Coffee with Annalise<\/em>: <\/strong> If you have\nany questions related to research support, or you just want company to chat\nabout your day over coffee, get in touch with our friendly GRS student liaison\nperson Annalise Davidson. Initially email her at grs@aut.ac.nz<\/a> and she will make a time to chat\nvia phone or via a video-chat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Korero with the Dean: <\/em>Prof Mark Orams, Dean of the Graduate Research School will be offering online \u201cdrop-ins\u201d for graduate research students and supervisors for Q&As. The next scheduled session is scheduled for 11:30am-12:30pm Wednesday 27 May. The online drop-in sessions are scheduled on Mondays 9:30 \u2013 11:45am. Access through Zoom<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Continued development of Student Hub Online and Thesislink<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Graduate Research School is continuing to develop and offer online resources for graduate research students and their supervisors on the Student Hub Online (SHO)<\/a> and here onThesislink<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We hope you are finding a way to continue to make progress with your graduate research project. Please be kind to yourself, it\u2019s okay if you are not able to progress as much as you would like at the moment.
