Her research deconstructed the meaning\u2013making processes of \u2018Belief Cultural Markers\u2019 in television commercials.  Her work furthers the understanding of the creative and cultural place of Christianity in New Zealand and how we consider the sacred and the secular.  Melissa has also worked as a Lecturer at the School of Communications primarily teaching on media communication theory and image and sound analysis papers.
