ResBaz (short for Research Bazaar) is an annual event bringing together the entire Aotearoa research community for a week of online workshops and learning. The ResBaz 2026 event will take place from 29 June – 3 July, and the programme has just gone live!
There are lots of great workshops on offer this year. ResBaz is particularly strong on training in software and digital tools, and this year’s schedule includes ‘how-to’ sessions on some well-established as well as some more recent research tools. As you might expect, there is lots of guidance on AI tools too.

Register now for your choice of events. Highlights include:
- Research Data Collection & Surveys With REDCap
- Digital Storytelling with KnightLab
- Publish Smarter: Choosing Where to Publish
- Unlocking the Potential of the Stats NZ Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI) For Research
- Reproducible Data Workflows with Snakemake
- Hands-On Statistical Analysis With R
- Precision Prompting: Mastering Generative AI for the Research Lifecycle
- Authoring Collaborative Research Projects In Quarto
- Introduction To Cleaning & Transforming Data With Openrefine
- Journeys into High Performance Computing
PG research students are very welcome to take part! Be sure to check any instructions for your chosen session/s, as some require you to download or install the relevant tools. For some there may be a little bit of pre-work.
Tell your supervisors, tell your friends – ResBaz is inclusive of all Aotearoa-afilliated researchers!
