Health Informatics New Zealand invites you to the inaugural Health Informatics Postgraduate Research Seminar on the 8th June, 2013 in the AUT Conference Centre, WA224, WA Building, City Campus.
Join us for a full or half day option where we will offer you a practical insight to the ever changing world of health informatics.
The day will commence with an ‘Introduction to Health Informatics’ which aims to raise awareness of the importance of the field of health informatics, the competencies involved, and the requirements and opportunities for up skilling or advancing learning. This links to the National Health Information Strategy; information technology is seen as necessary to provide a consolidated platform for shared care planning between providers as New Zealand works towards the eHealth Vision: “To achieve high quality health care and improve patient safety, by 2014 New Zealanders will have a core set of personal health information available electronically to them and their treatment providers regardless of the setting as they access health services”.
In the afternoon we offer an opportunity to hear from those at the coal face who will paint a picture of achieving a future career in health IT. The day will conclude with practical examples of student work in progress and then followed by the health IT Dragons Den.
