Enhancing the Postgraduate Research Culture at AUT

Authors: Dr. Jennie Billot, Professor Marion Jones & Madeline Banda

In 2012 a project was initiated by researchers from the University Postgraduate Centre to identify ways of improving how AUT University supports successful postgraduate student research and what resources need to be provided. Our overall intention is to enhance the University’s postgraduate research environment as well as encourage a vibrant research community.

All postgraduate research students were invited to become involved in the project. The first phase of data collection involved focus groups. The data collected then informed the development of questions which were integrated into the AUT Postgraduate Research Experience Survey. Some of you may have participated in the focus groups and/or completed the survey, so thank you for your participation. You have told us what AUT students believe are important for effectively undertaking research.

The project has now been completed and you are invited to read the Executive Summary of the Final Report as well as the results of the Survey.
