New Training Format for 2015

You may have noticed that some of the research training courses offered by the University Postgraduate Centre this year are being run as webinars. This means that the information is delivered online, so you can attend from the comfort of your own home or office! See Careerhub for an overview of scheduled webinars.

We have been trialling this new format over the past year at Academic Consulting, and have received positive feedback from students and researchers who have taken part. Attendees appreciated having a live presenter to explain the material, the interactive nature of the sessions, and the user-friendliness of the technology. Best of all they didn’t need to leave home, battle through Auckland’s traffic, or pay for a car park.

The webinars we have planned at AUT for 2015 are one hour in duration – and are designed to provide attendees with practical, pertinent, and up-to-date information on a range of research-related topics. A key feature of all our webinars is the provision of tips and tricks that can be applied across different methodologies and research settings. As the information is delivered online, it means that we are able to offer the training to a larger number of students, and people outside of Auckland can also easily attend.

Enrolment for these courses is via the AUT University Postgraduate Centre – email postgraduate.centre@aut.ac.nz if you have any questions relating to this. Staff from Academic Consulting will be facilitating the sessions (alongside other scheduled face-to-face training courses) and we look forward to ‘seeing’ you at the webinars! Don’t forget as well that we provide a number of free resources and a range of services for postgraduate students – see the Academic Consulting website (www.academic-consulting.co.nz ) for more information regarding these.
