August 18, 2021: COVID-19 update for research students

COVID Be kind

Kia ora graduate research students

As we expect you know, New Zealand is now at COVID-19 Alert Level 4 for an initial period of three days. Auckland and the Coromandel are most closely linked to the current community case and will likely remain in Level 4 lockdown for at least seven days.

Unfortunately, this means all AUT campuses are closed, including access to specialist spaces such as laboratories, and study spaces.

Face-to-face research must not occur.

Please find the latest advice about undertaking research during COVID-19 here.

If you are currently amidst data collection, we understand this lockdown presents an unexpected challenge to your progress. Please be proactive in discussing the situation with your supervisor.

Information on support services available is here.

Let’s hope we are able to return to (relatively) normal life soon.

Kia atawhai, kia tūpato, kia haumaru (be kind, be careful, be safe),
