As another year draws to a close, we wish you a very Meri Kirihimete (Merry Christmas) me te Hape Nū Ia (and a happy New Year)!
We close 2022 on the enormous scientific news that a major breakthrough has been made in nuclear fusion – a step toward potentially abundant clean energy, and a reminder of the world-changing power of research.
Still: every researcher needs a break now & then! AUT’s summer break runs from Saturday 17 December 2022 to Sunday 8 January 2023. During this time, most AUT buildings and services will be closed, and most staff will be away. However, if you do need to work on-campus, there will be some facilities available.
The postgraduate study rooms on the City and South campuses (WU415/416 & MA206) will be open as usual from 6am-10pm, 7 days. The buildings will be accessible by swipe card access only. The study rooms will not be serviced over this period (tea, coffee and printer paper supplies will not be replenished; please remove your own rubbish). Note that due to the campuses being closed there may not be any air-conditioning.
The North campus study room (AL210) will be CLOSED due to the A1 building works.
The City and South campus libraries will have limited opening hours in the first week of the summer break, but will then be closed until Monday 9 January. See the full details here. The North campus library will be closed for the entire summer break period due to building works.
Wishing you a restful holiday, with plenty of sunshine, family & friends, good kai, and a brain-refreshing break from your studies.
See you in 2023!
