Submit an abstract for the 2025 Postgraduate Research Symposium!

Calling all postgraduate researchers at AUT! Are you ready to showcase your research, connect with fellow postgrads, and gain valuable feedback from the academic community? The 2025 AUT Postgraduate Research Symposium is just around the corner—and we want you to be part of it!

Whether you’re in the early stages of your thesis or putting the finishing touches on your findings, presenting at the Postgraduate Research Symposium is your chance to:

  • Present your research in a supportive, interdisciplinary environment
  • Practice your communication skills in front of a diverse audience
  • Network with peers, supervisors, and the wider AUT community

Why submit an abstract?

Because the abstract review process is a valuable tool for your development as a researcher. It helps you clarify your research focus, develop your academic writing skills, learn to communicate across disciplines, and improve your overall research communication.

Because your research deserves to be seen. If your abstract is accepted, the Postgraduate Research Symposium is a great platform to share your research, and spark conversations. Plus, presenting at this event will look great on your academic CV!

Who can submit?
All currently enrolled AUT postgraduate research students—Master’s, Doctoral, and Honours —are encouraged to submit. Whatever your discipline, we want to hear from you.

How to submit:
Head to the Postgraduate Research Symposium page on the AUT website for submission guidelines and details. Abstracts should outline the nature of your research, including methodology, approach and sample, any key literature, arguments, findings and/or conclusions.

Deadline for abstract submissions: Friday 4 July 2025

Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of one of AUT’s most exciting research events of the year. We can’t wait to see your abstract!
