We’re leading up to the hottest time on the postgrad calendar here at AUT.

Postgraduate Week is happening on 14-18 August, and now is the time to prepare your entries for the Postgraduate Research Symposium and 3 Minute Thesis competition. If you have no idea what we’re talking about, here’s the gist.

The Postgraduate Research Symposium is an annual research showcase where you can present your work in front of an audience. You can choose between a poster presentation, oral presentation, and creative exhibition. Research presentations can be on any subject, and you can be at any stage in your research to present. To apply to the Symposium, you’ll need to prepare an abstract using the abstract template form and send it to the Graduate Research School. Submissions close 30 June. Find more info here:

Call for Abstracts Postgraduate Research Symposium 2017 – poster

The 3 Minute Thesis, or 3MT, is a major international competition for postgrad students. The challenge is to communicate your research intelligently and clearly in just 3 minutes, using just one slide. There are competitions for Masters and Doctoral research students, and the AUT winners will go up against others from around NZ / Australia in the grand finals. To apply, send us your abstract using the 3MT 2017 entry form. Further details are in the flyer below. Submissions close 10 July.
