This Friday is the last day that AUT is fully open for the year. Our official summer operations period for 2019/2020 is from Saturday 14 December 2019 to Sunday 5 January 2020. During that time, some buildings will be closed and many services will be reduced or unavailable.
We encourage you to take a break during this period and return refreshed and ready to start the New Year. However, if you do wish to work over the holidays, read on for all the details you need to know.
All faculty and school postgraduate study rooms will be unavailable over the summer operations period. Central postgraduate study rooms (WU415-416 on the City campus, MA206 on the South campus,* and AL210 on the North campus) will be accessible by swipe card access as usual. However, the rooms won’t be serviced; so please make sure that you take your rubbish out with you and leave the rooms in a tidy condition. Cafes will be closed, though vending machines will be running in case of snacking emergencies. Also note: there will not be any supplies such as milk/tea/coffee provided over this period.
If you do not have access to the central postgraduate study rooms, please contact the Security office on 0800 AUT SAFE (0800 288 7233) or extension 9997 from an internal phone, or visit the following Security locations to acquire swipe access:
- City Campus, WO201
- North Campus, AT Block
- South Campus, MF Block
The campus libraries (City, North, and South) will be running with a skeleton staff for the first week of the summer operations period. They will then close at 5pm Friday 20 December 2019 and re-open 8am Monday 6 January 2020. Visit the AUT library website for full details of the individual libraries’ operating hours.
