It’s almost our favourite day of the year… the AUT Postgraduate Research Symposium!
Register here to come along on Thursday 11 September for a full day of intellectual nourishment. This year, for the first time, the Symposium will be held at the Akoranga campus (super handy on an NX2 from the city). The AZ, AF, and AJ buildings will be filled with celebrations of postgraduate research. There will be a keynote from AUT PhD graduate and entrepreneur Dr. Balakrishnan Nair, dozens of oral presentations and posters from PG students, prizes, good kai, conversation, workshops, and so much more.

Want to hear about cutting-edge postgraduate research? You’re in for a treat. Thirty-six postgraduate colleagues will give oral presentations across twelve themed streams:
- Breaking Boundaries: Gender & Power
- Bridging Lives and Livelihoods
- Building Sustainable Futures
- Communities Leading Change
- Drawing Stories, Building Worlds
- Frontiers in Biomedicine
- Health, Care & Responsibility
- Healthy Lives, Diverse Journeys
- Healthy Minds, Resilient Families
- Lives Reimagined: Creative Practice and Personal Narrative
- Story, Place & the Politics of Voice
- Tech for Human Potential
No matter what you’re interested in, there is plenty to see and hear! There will also be a dozen research posters on display, and all audience members can vote for their favourite to win the Best Poster prize.
You can view the full programme below.
It’s not often that we have a good excuse to get out of the office or lab and indulge in a day of inspiration. So come along and get your fix of bright ideas!
