It’s on! AUT Research Week / Wiki Rangahau 2025 is next week, and tickets are going fast. There are 31 events on offer, but many are now booking out. If you haven’t registered, the clock is ticking!
The best news: there are still tickets available for our key PG events: the African Postgraduate Research Symposium on Monday, the 3MT competition finals on Tuesday, and the AUT Postgraduate Research Symposium on Thursday.
Here are some other highlights with tickets still available:
- “Kaupapa Māori Research: Paradigm and Practice in Business, Economics and Law” – Monday 8 Sep 2025, 10:00am–12:00pm. Explore Kaupapa Māori as a research paradigm informing theory and practice for social change.
- “Research Reels” – Tuesday 9 Sep 2025, 9:30am–12:00pm. This workshop will help you craft a newsworthy script for a short form video – think Instagram reels, TikTok or YouTube shorts. You can also film it using the AUT faculty communication team’s A/V gear on the day!
- “Darling, I want my queer comics now! From ancient art to webcomics” – Tuesday 9 Sep 2025, 2:00pm–3:30pm. Dr Tof Eklund, co-author of the forthcoming “Queer Comics: An Introduction,” draws a line from ancient cave art and the Kajuraho temple sculptures through lesbian shunga and physique magazine pinups to arrive at a vibrant, international queer comics and cartooning scene.
- “School of Art and Design Research Showcase” – Wednesday 10 Sep 2025, 9:00am–5:00pm. Explore performance art, architectural drawing, documentary film, sustainable fashion, and fine arts on display. You can also learn more about the School of Art and Design’s research centres.
- “Diving into Research Data Management: An introduction” – Thursday 11 Sep 2025, 1:30pm–2:30pm. Learn about good ethical practices in describing, storing, accessing and sharing data.
- “LitPlus: A community approach to literacy education” – Thursday 11 Sep 2025, 2:00pm–5:00pm. Anyone with an interest in literacy – and anyone with young kids! – should flock to this event to learn about how children can be encouraged to take pleasure in reading.
There are lots more choices too, so check out the Research Week website and full programme, and head on over to the registration site to sign yourself up!
