AUT Research Week | Te Wiki Rangahau (31 August – 4 September) is 1 week away, and this year’s programme is packed with events celebrating AUT’s postgraduate research community.
Kicking things off is the Postgraduate Research Symposium on Tuesday 1 September at the AUT City Campus, where PG research students give oral, poster and creative presentations sharing their research with the AUT community. Watch out also for a fascinating keynote address from Associate Professor Megan Phillips entitled “The Places We Go”. There will also be a publication panel with academic Dr Amy Errmann, PhD candidate Jay Nagalingam, and scholarly communications librarian Donna Coventry, who will be sharing their tips for maximising your publication opportunities. The next day, the African Postgraduate Research Symposium (Wednesday 2 September, 11am – 2pm, WG607) offers a platform for emerging scholars to showcase their research and foster interdisciplinary collaboration. Look out for a great range of PG research presentations, as well as opportunities for connection, reflection, and conversation.
Last but not least, watch AUT doctoral candidates distil years of research into three minutes flat at the 2026 AUT 3MT Competition Finals (Thursday 3 September, 2pm – 3.30pm, WG306 + WG308). This event is both in-person and livestreamed, with audience voting and $1000 of research awards up for grabs.

There are also many other events on offer during Te Wiki Rangahau where you can explore and engage in AUT’s research. All AUT staff and research students are welcome to attend; and most events are open to the wider community as well.
