Call for papers

The New Zealand Association for Research in Education announces its first one-day research seminar.  This new series is intended to be a low-cost, high quality, accessible seminar series on current issues. Registration will be $50 for members and $80 for non-members.

The seminar on higher education research will be held on Friday 12 July at the Royal Society Lecture Theatre in Wellington, 9-5.  There are two keynote speakers: Professor Simon Marginson of the University of Melbourne and Professor Michael Peters of the University of Waikato. Registration will open shortly on the NZARE website.

Call for papers: The call for papers will open this week.  Please note there is limited space for papers and seminars.

Please send title, brief abstract and contact information to Liz Gordon (lizgordon@paradise.net.nz) by 5 April.

Principles of selection will be

(a)   A focus on structure and policy

(b)   research into wananga, universities, polytechnics, and PTEs

(c)    papers that illuminate the current experience of participants, either teachers or learners, in higher education, and

(d)   papers that elucidate ‘the state we’re in’, politically or comparatively.

We are also intending to run a session where researchers get a few minutes to outline their projects and make connections with others.
