We invite you to join us for the Qualitative Data Analysis workshop for Research Postgraduate Students this Friday, February 14 from 9:00am to 12:30pm. This course is offered by the University Postgraduate Centre – Spaces are limited!
One of the challenges of qualitative approaches is dealing with the large volume of data that is generated. Unlike quantitative approaches, where computer software can do most of the analysis work for the researcher, qualitative data require a much higher level of input in the analysis stages. For those who have not conducted qualitative data analysis before, learning exactly how themes are identified can be difficult without expert advice. This training course aims to clarify this process, and discusses a range of ways to present findings in a qualitative project.
Course Content:
• Data preparation (e.g. transcription)
• Approaches to thematic coding and categorising
• Tables, matrices, flowcharts, and diagrams
• Ensuring quality
