Thesislink is a very important initiative in the world of research for two reasons. Firstly, researchers often become rather isolated as they delve deeper and deeper into their inquiries. Having a community of researchers that one can engage with electronically via a blog will be invaluable especially if there is active participation by fellow students and staff in this networking and information sharing opportunity.
The second reason, for applauding this initiative by Jennie and her Postgraduate Centre colleagues is the potential it offers to facilitate the development of a stronger sense of community amongst research scholars at AUT. By monitoring activity on the blog, researchers will be able to keep abreast of developments across the campus and to feed into debates about a wide range of issues relevant for research.
