WU Building Closure this Saturday

If you use the PG study rooms or other workspaces in WU building, you may have noticed a lot of construction going on lately. The building is currently undergoing a major refurbishment including the installation of a new air conditioning and heating system. The refurbishment will also include new paint, a new ceiling, new carpet, seismic bracings and new lighting in due course.

While all of this is great news for our long-term comfort, it does mean a few inconveniences in the short-term.

This Saturday, 23rd March, the building will be closed from 6am to 6pm for electrical work. That means the WU PG study rooms will be inaccessible during that time, and all power supply will be cut off. If you have a dedicated computer in WU, please ensure that you fully shut it down before Saturday to ensure that no work is lost during the outage.

If you plan to work on campus on Saturday, we recommend that you use the AUT Library space as an alternative. All campus libraries will be open on Saturday from 10am to 6pm. Alternatively, if you live near the North Shore or South Auckland, you can use the PG study rooms on our other campuses:

  • North Campus AL210
  • South Campus MA206

If you have any queries about this work please contact the AUT Estates Helpdesk, ehelp@aut.ac.nz.
