Are you in the last six months of completing your PhD at AUT? Would you like to share your experience?

I am conducting a study examining the experience of formative assessment (e.g. PGR9) and strict time frames for completion (i.e. usually 4 years full time) on the students experience of writing a PhD. The objective of this research project is to compare the contemporary experience of writing a PhD, with the traditional (largely unstructured) experience of writing a PhD. It seeks to understand the role that additional structure (formative assessment and time-frames) might play in writing, including the production an ‘original’ thesis and, whether it has any positive impact (or otherwise) on the personal experience of dissertation writing.
