Get excited… next week is Postgraduate Week at AUT!
Really, for those of us studying towards a postgrad qualification, every week is postgrad week. But the official PG Week is special because it gives us all an excuse to get together, attend some workshops, and share our research.
So what’s happening during PG Week?
PG Breakfast
It all kicks off with a networking breakfast on Monday morning, bright and early at 7:45am in the WA224 conference rooms. Academic consultant Dr Lyn Lavery will give a special talk on her learnings so far as a researcher. Contact postgraduate.centre@aut.ac.nz to register.
Workshops
These are on all throughout the academic year, but PG Week features an extra packed schedule of training and development opportunities. Check out CareerHub for the full schedule.
Symposium
Friday brings an all-day research symposium especially for PG students. Colab’s Associate Professor Charles Walker will give a keynote, and then there will be a full day of talks and posters from AUT PG students. This year, for the first time, the Symposium will include creative presentations as well. Find the full programme here.
3MT AUT Finals
The entrants faced their heats over the last couple of weeks, and now the AUT finalists will battle it out for 3 Minute Thesis glory on Friday at 3pm in WG308. There are separate competitions for Masters and Doctoral students, and the winners of each competition will go on to the NZ finals at the University of Auckland (Masters) or the Australasian finals at the University of Queensland (Doctoral).
You can find more details about the whole week at the Postgrad Centre website. Get amongst it and we’ll see you there!
