Happy Open Access Week, everybody!
This week celebrates the principle of free, open scholarship; and the scholars, librarians, and advocates who are working hard to make open access a reality.
Open Access is all about making research available to everyone: no firewalls, no ‘pay-per-view’ papers, and no publishing conglomerates making huge profits from the work of researchers (more on that here).
To mark this occasion, the Australasian Open Access Strategy Group (AOASG) is running a series of online events and talks. These run through the week from 2-4pm NZ time.
Find the full session details here. Our picks? A session on open access via WikiData (tomorrow 3pm NZ time) and another on advocacy in the pandemic (Friday 3pm NZ time). Choose your favourites and learn more about inclusive, open access scholarship.
