Want to tell the world about your research?
At the AUT Postgraduate Research Symposium on Friday 8 September, you can present your research as an oral presentation, poster, or creative exhibition.
This Symposium is a lot like an academic conference, and it’s a great opportunity to practice presenting your research at a friendly, local, and free event before taking your research out to the wider world. The process to apply is almost exactly the same as a conference… except we help to coach you along the way! You’ll submit your abstract, we’ll review it and give you feedback, and then if accepted, you will present your research and have your abstract published.
Abstracts of up to 300 words are due by Friday 7 July via this form. If you would like some help preparing your abstract, come along to the “Writing an Abstract for a Conference or Symposium” workshop tomorrow at 1pm online (register here to get the link). Alternatively, you can check out our abstract-writing cheat sheet here on Thesislink.
The Symposium will also feature:
- a keynote presentation from AUTSA PG Affairs Officer and PhD student Damon Yu
- prizes for the Best Abstract and Best Poster
- networking opportunities over shared kai
- a talk on how to get published from our friends at Te Mātāpuna AUT Library
