Ready to share your research with the AUT whānau?
Our annual AUT Postgraduate Research Symposium is coming up on Monday 9 September! All honours, masters, and doctoral research students are very welcome to submit an abstract to present at the event.
This is an opportunity to build your research communication skills and your networks; and accordingly this symposium is very open to all types of presentations. You don’t need to have any research findings to present; you can share your research plans, literature review, methodology, or other aspects of your research. Get creative!
You can choose to present in any of 3 ways:
- Oral presentation – tell us about your research (either F2F, online, or pre-recorded)
- Poster presentation – show us your research*
- Creative exhibition – demonstrate or perform your research
Whichever format your choose, you’ll be able to connect with the audience, take questions, join us for a keynote presentation and other events, plus enjoy the delicious catered kai throughout the day.
There are awards for the best poster and best abstract, and we’ll support you through the process of refining your abstract for publication. There are also workshops to help you prepare for the event:
- Designing research posters that pop! (30 May): get lots of design tips to ensure that your poster catches the eye and that your key points come across clearly
- Writing an abstract for a conference or symposium (27 June): learn how to write an abstract to gain acceptance and attract your audience
Abstract submissions close Friday 5 July 2024. There’s lots more info on the symposium website, and you can send any questions to the organising team at red@aut.ac.nz.
We hope to see you there!
*Poster designers take note: PG posters are invited for the Ngā hua a Tane-te-wānanga Māori Research Symposium, which is in the same week as the PG Research Symposium. Please indicate on your abstract submission form if you’d like your poster to be considered for both!
