Got some time to upskill during the COVID-19 lockdown?
Obviously we can’t get together for seminars or workshops right now. But there are other options for learning new research skills.
As we wrote about previously, the GRS will be putting as many resources online as we can during this lockdown. Our Postgraduate Research Online Resources page on the Student Digital Workspace is now filled with short videos, webinars, and other resources to help you develop your research skills now and in the future.
We are also expanding the number of full workshops available as Zoom sessions* or webinars. This means you can attend our workshops from home using your webcam. Here’s a sample of some of the Zoom workshops and webinars coming up in April that are particularly relevant for research students:
___________
*TODAY* April 7 | 2pm – 2:55pm | Create your LinkedIn profile |

As always, you can book for these sessions (and many others) via eLab.
So to recap: can you attend AUT workshops online? Yes, now more than ever. Can you attend in your pyjamas? All we’ll say is: angle your webcam up from the chin, and nobody will know.
*Never used Zoom? There are instructions here for joining a ‘meeting’ (in this case: a workshop). It’s pretty simple – when you register for your workshop we’ll send you a URL, and when the workshop is due to start, you click that URL to join in. Make sure your webcam and microphone are enabled so you can join in the conversation.
