It’s been a huge year for postgraduate research at AUT. PhD graduate Dr Andres Tiban was part of a world-leading nanoparticle discovery; PhD student Ryan Howard took out AUT’s 3MT title with his presentation on squid bioluminesence, and hundreds of PG students passed their examinations (woohoo)!
We also enjoyed lots of buzzing PG events. If you haven’t already, check out the selection of videos from AUT Research Week 2024, including the 3MT competition finals and Dr Atakohu Middleton’s inspiring opening keynote from the PG Research Symposium. Dr Middleton also sat down with us for a detailed chat about how she turned her PhD thesis into a book – essential viewing for anyone considering doing the same.
As we wind down toward the summer break, there are just a few last workshops on in December. For those planning some writing over the summer, check out two writing workshops to help with your discussion sections and making internal connections within your writing. And for those preparing to job hunt, there are two careers workshops tailored to postgraduate students – whether you are looking in academia or in industry.
AUT will enter our ‘summer shutdown’ period from 18 December to 7 January – check Thesislink next week for more details on that – so there will be a pause in workshops and events. However, bear in mind that you can always access a curated selection of self-service PG academic resources via PG_Me on Canvas.
Read on for details of our last PG workshops for 2024.
